This Privacy Policy explains how IP Address Monitor & Change Alerts handles information when you use the extension.
The extension's single purpose is to check your current public IP address, compare it with the previously detected public IP address, and notify you when the address changes.
Information the Extension Handles
To provide its core functionality, the extension retrieves your public IP address. A public IP address is inherently transmitted as part of internet communication and is also returned by the IP lookup service used by the extension.
How the information is used
- To determine your current public IP address.
- To compare the current address with the previously detected address.
- To display or trigger a notification when the public IP address changes.
Local storage
The extension may store the current or previously detected public IP address locally in Chrome extension storage so that it can detect a later change. This information is used only for the extension's core IP-monitoring functionality.
What we do not collect for our own purposes
The developer does not use the extension to collect your browsing history, website content, passwords, authentication credentials, financial information, health information, personal communications, or advertising profile.
Third-Party IP Lookup Service
The extension communicates with https://api.ipify.org to obtain the user's
current public IP address. This request is necessary for the extension's single purpose.
Because the request is made to a third-party service, that service receives network request information in accordance with its own privacy practices. The developer does not control the independent data practices of that service.
The extension uses HTTPS for communication with the IP lookup service.
Data Sharing, Sale, and Advertising
- We do not sell user data.
- We do not use user data for personalized or interest-based advertising.
- We do not transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's core functionality.

The public IP lookup request is transmitted to
api.ipify.orgonly because it is necessary to determine the current public IP address.
Retention and Deletion
Information retained by the extension for IP-change detection is stored locally in the user's browser. Users can remove locally stored extension data by removing the extension from Chrome or clearing the extension's stored data through Chrome.
The developer does not maintain a separate user account database for this extension unless this Privacy Policy is updated to explicitly state otherwise.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure
The use of information received through Chrome extension permissions complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Information accessed by the extension is used only to provide or improve the extension's disclosed single purpose. It is not used or transferred for unrelated purposes, for personalized advertising, or to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Notifications
The notifications permission is used to notify the user when a public IP
address change is detected.
Host permission
Access to https://api.ipify.org/* is used only to retrieve the current public
IP address required for IP-change detection.
Security
The extension is designed to minimize data access and uses encrypted HTTPS communication when requesting the public IP address from the IP lookup service.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
If the extension's functionality or data practices change, this Privacy Policy may be updated. Any material change to data handling will be reflected here and, where required, in the Chrome Web Store disclosures.
